Jerejak Island

An island which used to be a sanctuary for lepers long ago. Now a tourism spot with rock-climbing, paintball and jungle trekking activities.

It was once known as the Alcatraz of Malaysia due to the high security prison which was set up in the 60s and closed down in the 90s.

To visit the island, you can purchase a day package from Jerejak Resort & Spa, the only resort on Jerejak Island. The ticket can be purchase at the jetty on the Penang Island. Accomodation is also available at the resort. The details of the day package is as follows.

Jerejak Day Experience Package:

RM50 (Adult) / RM30 (Children)

The package includes…

  1. Return ferry transfer.
  2. Meal + drink (set meal or buffet).
  3. Free usage of suspension bridge.
  4. Free usage of flying fox.
  5. Free usage of wall climbing.
  6. Free usage of archery.
  7. Free usage of table tennis.
  8. Free usage of swimming pool.
  9. Scheduled jungle trekking.

Other than that, free Wifi access is available around the pool area. Other activities such as cycling and paintball are available at additional cost.

Since the package includes meal + drink, try to reach the island before or around lunch hour. Please refer to the ferry schedule.
